SECTION 27. Partner who assumes public office. – When a partner assumes public office, such partner shall withdraw from the firm and such partner’s name shall be removed from the firm name, unless allowed by law to practice concurrently. (2023 Code of Professional Responsibility and Accountability or CPRA)
1. Partner who assumes public office
When a partner assumes public office, such partner shall withdraw from the firm and such partner’s name shall be removed from the firm name, unless allowed by law to practice concurrently.
a. Withdraw from firm and remove name
Partners who assume public office shall:
1) Withdraw from the firm; and
2) Their names should be removed from the firm name.

The rule on withdrawal and removal from the firm name is subject to the exception that the lawyers are allowed to practice concurrently.
